"Keep Abreast" provides an honest and up-to-date account of breastfeeding advocacy in the Philippines, including official documents and reference materials. This blog is written by Alexis Rodrigo, a breastfeeding mother and former communication staff of UNICEF Philippines. I have breastfed two children and currently breastfeeding my third child. While in UNICEF, I was involved in breastfeeding advocacy for over four years. I am also a childbirth educator and former columnist for Good Housekeeping Philippines. "Keep Abreast" does not reflect the official policies and views of UNICEF.
My name is Rachel Valley. I live in California USA. I am a photographer as well as a nursing mother to an 18 month old daughter.
I am putting together an exhibition here in the States called Mother Culture . It depicts the challenges mothers face when breastfeeding today. The exhibition will travel after the initial opening here in California.
I was deeply moved by the "Formula for Disaster" videos. So much so that I would like to be used in any capacity I can. I need to help. Please let me know how I can assist in promoting breastfeeding to women everywhere...especially where it is most needed, such as the Philippines.
I so look forward to hearing what you think I might be able to do to help women and children who need it most.
